Spooks Series 10 Confirmed

UPDATE! APRIL 2011 – Click here for the latest news on Spooks Season 10.

Good news Spooks fans, I’ve just learned via the Spooks Forum that according to Ian Wylie, series 10 of Spooks has been commissioned by the BBC. WOOHOO!

The first question that comes to mind is – will Richard Armitage feature in the next series, given that he’ll be busy filming the first full season of Strike Back early next year? By that time Lucas will have appeared in three full seasons of Spooks, which is the average innings for most of the characters. Without having seen all of season nine yet it’s too early to speculate… but I suspect we might have another spectacular exit to look forward to (or dread), early in S10.

No you all have it wrong. If only Adam had escaped the explosion. Together with Ros, the slickest spooks of all. What’s the latest with series 10 progress anyway? Estimated airing date anyone?

What bothers me is why all this speculation about this excellent series beong closed down.
in fact there is no reason as so many other series have been going for years. as for the characters Lucas North has done an excellent job of replacing adam but i am sad about ross leaving. And I thought that Ross looked very nice whaen well dressed. This series is even better than Bond and I also think a motion picture should be made. They could even incorporate ’6′ in it and see if the Bond producers would agree to having OO7 working with ’5′ James Armstrong

Hi James, if you look at the more recent posts on series 10 on this blog, it reports that were will be only 6 episodes of spooks in series 10. Also, a bunch of spooks props were sold off recently, which has added to the speculation that the show will be ending with series 10.

So happy to see Tariq will be in series 10. He is a very beautiful young man. Also good about Harry and Ruth. Sorry Ros won’t be around though. Still, it’s bound to be excellent.

The British truly know how to do a series right! Don’t change a thing: the writing is top-shelf, the acting is bang-on, and the scenarios are believable given today’s conspiracy climate. Oh, and please don’t “dumb it down” as we Canadians don’t have to turn up the volume to understand the British pronunciation.

Hi Edwardo, we don’t know yet. But we presume it will go to air at around the time it did last year, which is late October.

I read Spooks,Harry’s Diary. It was brilliant,Iv been trying to loan it out again from the library, but it seem to be very popular,it is first time I have wanted to read a book again. In fact I think I may as well buy it because i keep thinking of subjects he entered in his diary and I can’t remember what the outcome was.Am I right in saying that at the end of the diary he wrote he would not write another one?Wish he would.I think I prefer Spooks toJames Bond now,I’m more excited about that coming bac next month.

OK, hard to see how series 10 will pan out….given the subtext of the love that dare not speak it’s name betwixt Harry and Ruth have effectively given last rights by her indoors in episode 6.
Over all the Spooks decade has raised some very pointed questions re the ‘Special Relationship’ and Israeli aggression (no I’m not being anti- Semitic cos that means I’d have bagged the Arabs as well! LOL!) in the ‘Occupied Territories’ (Hmm why is it called that again???!).
Continuity wise there’s been some massive cockups, the shoot down of a 747 that turns into a Cessna on crashing,in that same episode everybody tooling around in MASH era jeeps, when in a later episode Johny Turk has Hummers. That and some other link stuff ups but over all a cracking good tell!

I’m in the States and the broadcasts are all messed up and out of order here since they’ve switched network. So…rented ALL of the episodes from 1 through 8 at the video store, then bought Season 9 on video. As for Season 10, I am as caught up as anyone in the UK because there are various websites ONLINE where you can just watch the whole show, complete from beginning to end with no ads or other online nonsense. Just finished Season 10, episode 4 and have to wait until Oct. 16 to catch the 5th episode, same time it airs in the UK. …….So far, Harry is still around, Ruth is likely to go back to GCHQ to work as the personal intel security adviser to the Home Secretary, so she and Harry may never get it together. Will he get back together with the Russian chick who had his son??? …Only 2 more episodes left. Gawd. Best series ever on the tube, in any country.

Please share how you view these episodes in the U.S.! I just finished watching all seasons on Netflix and cannot wait a year to view season 10.

Spookfan: There are several sites that post the current episodes after broadcast. The easiest way is to Google this: “Spooks Season 10 Episode 6 watch online” without the quotes of course. Each site posts at different times. Those web pages are filled with sites to watch; look around the page until you find one with a working link. It’s easy. The sites are worldwide and mirrored, which means if a couple sites go down, there are numerous other sites which pick up the show.

Netflix is not current, I have to agree with you. Just Google the above like I suggested, and after it broadcasts in the UK, the show will start showing up online this afternoon.

I have had the best luck watching Spooks/MI-5 on Megavideo and Blinx. I pay for Megavideo but am assured of the episodes being available right away and of good quality. It may be a long time before Netflix offers Season 10 (they got big problems now).

By now you’ve seen all of Season 9 and Lucas is out. Just waiting with baited breath for Season 10 but, alas, not until 2012 in the U.S. and who knows when the DVD will be for sale!
