Ahhh Coffee. Where would I be without this delicious amber brew? Barely conscious and vertical each day, I’m sure (and with a splitting headache from caffeine withdrawal no doubt, too). If there is anything positive to be salvaged from the disaster zone that was Sarah Caulfield, it is that her penchant for coffee seemed to rub off on Lucas North somewhat. As a result, the caffeine addict cohort of the Spooks viewing audience were treated to a sharp increase in salacious java screen time throughout season eight. If you’re a caffeine consuming Lucas lover, grab yourself a cuppa and feast your eyes on these double shots of hot stuff:

Ah, caffeine…
On Monday afternoon I decided that I would try 2 weeks without caffeine. By Tuesday afternoon I was in agony as a full-on caffeine withdrawal headache hit. By Wednesday morning I decided that as I only have 2 cups of coffee a day, I would cut that to one and that would be sufficient.
I am not giving up! You can’t make me!
I try to stick to 1 – 2 cups a day. My tea intake has sky rocketed since doing this, though!
I’ve just noticed that he never holds the handle…*shrug*

I think the way he handles cups shows off the long elegant fingers. The top pictue and the one in a suit- yummy!

I just really had to grab a cup of coffee and it is already quite late here and I shouldn#t. But as I have to finish my next FanstRAvaganza contribution, I will have to stay up quite late anyway ;o)

I just recognized that as well. I find this aspect quite charming, I do not really know why.
CDoart, I’ve taken to drinking decafe when in need of a coffee fix late at night. Drinking oxfam’s fair trade decafe at the moment. Worth the extra dollars! and I get to sleep!

This is Oxfam: http://www.oxfam.org/. I’m not sure if their Fair Trade coffee is just an Australian thing or not – but any ground decafe coffee by a half decent brand would be a good substitute.
They are in different countries (not sure if this is what you meant), the cocoa they sell tastes very good.
I’m not into coffee but sometimes I wish I like it, I recur to Coke what I don’t think it has the same effect.

At the Hobbit press conference the first thing he did was to pour himself a glass of water. He didn’t use the handle either.

Is it wrong that I love the way his fingers wrap around those white mugs?
I noticed Lucas had another coffee maker in the later episodes of S8. He is obviously a fan of brewed coffee (OH would say “Real” coffee ) and not instant coffee.
If he doesn’t hold the handle, does it mean that he leaves his coffee to grow cold before he drinks it. If it was boiling hot, he would burn his fingers. What does that say about him? My thought is that he likes a strong brew to give him a boost but he is so busy, it often gets a bit cold before he has time to drink it.
We’re big fans of brewed coffee – I will only drink it after I get up …. then I’m onto tea. OH would drink it all day if he could :)
I say “real” coffee too! My “real” coffee substitute are the Robert Tims coffee bags, they are the only instant coffee that smells like real coffee.
Caffeine addiction…I got it baaaad, maaan! I also have a sinus infection at the moment, and the sinus meds have caffeine in them, so I’ve been totally wired for the last week.
Following Lucas drinking coffee…how about a photo essay of Harry drinking whiskey?!

I love coffee and I love Lucas and his coffee. He drinks that cuppa coffee with such elegance and desire.
The two days before spring break I had gotten to the level of 7 espressos per day. Back away from the coffee, Servetus … I had so much caffeine my system that even after a week with no coffee I still haven’t gotten the withdrawal headache. Scary.

Bwah! Love it! Love the pix. I had no idea he drank so much coffee. He was always such a cool customer ( well, except for series 9 when obviously his coffee consumption went off the charts ;)).
re: season nine, who’da thought coffee could be so dangerous! I better keep in intake in check.

I share Lucas’ addiction. They can ask me to give up all kinds of things, but not the coffee. Espresso, triple shot, yes — if the spoon stands up, it’s mine. Yes, REAL coffee, please, although I’ll drink instant if the office/lab coffee is horrid. Luscious Lucas, with coffee flavour…
