It’s too bad insofar as I’d have been interested in your opinions of them episodes, when I get to see them, but finishing is really a good thing. It has the potential to make you feel a lot better — ending the years of work and moving on to the next thing.

Also, I’m not particularly interested in critiquing the show. I just wanna sit back and enjoy it.

That’s a difference between us. Servetus love=stringent analytical consideration. If I love you, I will look at what you say very closely :) I don’t really have an “enjoy” category that doesn’t involve critique / analysis.

I was once like you! (Actually, most of the time I still am). Come and join me, Servetus. It’s greener on the other side :)

I like being this way, thanks :) That’s one thing that, despite my frequent feelings of being a misfit in academic settings, is still true. When I feel the gears churning, I feel alive in ways I don’t feel at any other time.

:) I can relate to that. But if I were to be analytical all the time I couldn’t enjoy a silly show like Inspector Rex! My brain needs a break.

I haven’t seen any new episodes of Spooks or Downton Abbey yet. Boo! I feel so deprived. Americans need their fixes too, BBC!

    Skully,

best of luck on the PhD! can be a drag cutting into all your leisurely time, but good for you!

As for the critique analysis, well, I’m totally guilty of that, I love that part…but few silly observations for now as deep analysis isn’t really the focus of this blog and I don’t want to be a drag here…

Firs, the show’s got a serious color scheme going here, everyone only wears something in blue/black/gray family, and maybe something in the white-ish family, even the nonMI5ers! wardrobe budget limitations? LOL! Heck, even the sets are in the same color scheme for the most part!

Erin, she’s got a more traditional feminine look than anyone I can remember, her shirts are deeper cut, and her hair is much longer than previous MI5 ladies…

And Tariq, new look for him too!

BTW, Miss Ruth looks like she’s lost weight,

And Harry, well. totally obvious the kid was his,

Let’s see how the story rolls :)

Ruth looks great. Gives me hope that after a couple of years of post-baby blahness, there is some hope. :) She even looks younger (I wish …)

OH GOD WHAT AN AWFUL ENDING. NO NO NO.

Clare, agree that the ending was weird. It seemed they were breaking for a commercial, but there aren’t any commercials – and it just ENDED. Cold. Final. An ending most like that in the real world. No coming back to the grid for any of us; it’s Harry’s.

Harry hires Tom to assassinate the main terrorist planner in Russia. Perfect. It’s a contract hit not tied to MI-5. Revenge is best served cold.

Well in my day we would never have tolerated such behaviour. Really what is the world coming to. I won’t say more in case it gives the show away.
