What I never told you about Tariq is this – he totally reminds me of one of my ex-boyfriends! (a good one! still friends in fact). This is going back in the day to my undergraduate degree. So I have to confess I have a bit of soft spot for the grid’s IT geek. Like Tariq my former fella…

Farewell Tariq, sorry we didn’t get to know you a little better. Someone should have told him that grid based characters are DOOMED any time they venture off the grid (Except for Malcolm, cos he’s a freak). And all the very best to Shazad Latif. Spooks was his first TV gig and me thinks it will be the first of many!

Awww! Thanks for this post & so obvious it was coming; Tariq working off-grid? That was not very original. Couldn’t help hoping he would reveal something to Calum (the odds of him being there??) didn’t expect to get drawn in without Lucas presence .. Peter Firth’s performance is worth it.
To answer your question, no.
Off topic a bit…..Does anyone else get the feeling that they should have ended [spooks] with ep 9.8? It would have kept us guessing what happened to Harry. I’ve seen the first 2 eps and just not getting excited – We all know that on the show anyone can die/leave at anytime but now it’s almost like the writers gave up…just my opinion :)
Still LOVE the show – don’t get me wrong…I breathlessly wait to watch on Monday evenings in cyberspace.
Hoping for better in the last 4 eps.
Just finished watching epi 2 here…
Okay, so I suspected Tariq was going, going, gone when he talked about his life to Callum (ie needing to prove himself to everyone) plus, I figured he was expendable now that they brought in Callum, as he was basically doing the same stuff with the computer work when we were first introduced to him. I don’t get why Callum was out in the field cleaning up after the dead agent with Dimitry.
Speaking of which, I thought they’d have a separate crew doing the “clean-up” stuff after a mess? I don’t think they’d have field agents doing that work.
I don’t get the whole scene where Elena called Harry and hung up. I thought she changed her sim card so know one would know she called him, so how did they know it was her?
Ruth, her character has changed so much since the show first started.
Interesting scene at the end with Harry and Erin…are they setting up things so Harry will leave at the end of the season and Erin takes his spot? maybe that’s how the show will end.
Oh, and neat reference to Roz during the show. I do wish that they’d do a Tom/Zoey shout out before the show ends. They’re the only 2 surving agents from the entire show!
