Spooks repeat on ABC Australia

I just noticed that Spooks is being repeated on the ABC tonight (Wednesday) at 11:30pm. I’m not sure which season. Rupert Penry-Jones is mentioned so I presume it’s either season five or six.

Spooks 8 in Australia

Update: Spooks 8 will be airing in Australia from Saturday October 30 at 8:30pm on ABC1

This is just a quick post before I head out to Section B (my office). I’m a bit behind in reading your comments and catching up with the latest gossip on the forums because I have heaps of reading to do. Hopefully in the next couple of days. I’m also feeling a bit ratty and sleep f**ked thanks to having been in Section BD the past few months.

*Engaging grump mode, grump mode engaged.*

This time last year I was engrossed in watching season seven of Spooks on the ABC in Australia. So by that flimsy reasoning it should be Spooks watching season in the land downunder RIGHT NOW, shouldn’t it? Apparently not. Instead, we’re left waiting, whinging, whining and wondering WhyTF Doc Martin is being repeated on Saturday nights this early in the year. I thought reruns where for the summer months! But I digress. When season nine of Spooks goes to air in the UK later this year, it seems us Aussies will be just getting started on season eight. On behalf of all Australian Spooks fantragics I say this is not good enough!

In a recent post on SFB Mulubinba mentioned that Spooks 8 is not licensed to air on the ABC until September (sweet lady, was that speculation or from a source?). By then, I will have bought the UK DVD version of the season eight and will be watching it on my multi-region DVD player.

Therefore my message to you, ABC, is that you’ve lost me. The thing is, ABC, I love you! I want to give you my viewship and my dollars at the ABC shop, but I’m not going to wait a whole year to watch the next season of my favourite TV show. Thanks a lot, ABC, you’ve turned me into an annoying TV nerd (because having a blog about Spooks wasn’t nerdy enough) who moans about having to wait 12 months to see a TV show, like it was the worst thing on earth. Haiti, Iraq, Afghanistan.. why is the UN funneling all its resources there when Australia is being deprived of quality free to air British drama? We’re dying out here! Doctor Who only airs one night a week.. hmmm, maybe he could help?
