Spooks 10 Drinking Games

Are you following the Spooks Fan Blog on Twitter? We had a little fun recently coming up with ideas for hypothetical drinking games during the airing of Spooks (NOT LONG TO GO NOW!). Using the hashtag #spooks10drinkinggames, here’s a sample of what we came up with:

Every time Ruth looks away from Harry meaningfully, we have to down a shot of lavender oil (@BunchOfSteve)

When Tariq says “facial recog” & every time Ruth walks into Harry’s office w/o knocking (@shaijinx)

Any mention of a deceased team member and any mission’s codename (@TheMozFromOz)

When downloading 2usb &/or see screen of said important information downloading against the clock (@katy_aka_bob)

Words ‘eyeball’ ‘alpha 1′ (@golddustalex)

Drink whenever Harry and Ruth gaze at each other lovingly but their relationship doesn’t progress (@walktothestars)

Drink every time a character onscreen dies (@golddustalex)

And some of my suggestions @SpooksFanBlog:

Whenever you hear the words ‘the comms won’t work underground’

Should you be wanting to get paralytic (not advised!) Whenever Harry is on the phone

Shots of vodka at the mention(s) of Lucas/John

If Tom or Zoe turn up, go the whole bottle!

And if drinking aint your thang and you live downunder. Whenever someone goes through the pods, you can eat one.

And whatever happens HAVE ONE FOR ROS!

LAST MINUTE HARRY/RUTH PREDICTIONS?

Series 10 starts oh so soon. Before it does, let’s have some last minute speculations. HOW will it end? Will Ruth and Harry FINALLY get it together? Will the Spooks finale break our hearts (and theirs)? What do you think will happen? However it goes down, it will be a bittersweet joy to see Peter Firth and Nicola Walker take the beloved Harry Pearce and Ruth Evershed through their final paces. How do you think their story will unfold?

HERE IT IS, FOLKS!

Spooks Series 10 to be the Last

In what will come as little surprise to fans who have been suspecting as much, according to an article published on the Guardian website today, series 10 will be the last for Spooks. The decision has come from the production company who create spooks, Kudos, and not from the BBC.

Kudos chief executive and Spooks executive producer Jane Featherstone told MediaGuardian.co.uk: “I feel very sad about it. It was a very difficult decision to make. But we didn’t want to get to the point where the BBC said we don’t really want another one, we wanted to kill it off in its prime.”

As a dedicated Spooks fan it is a little sad to receive this news, but a decade of great television is a pretty mean feet! One can only be pleased that the show has stuck around for this long and has maintained such a great quality. I can not WAIT to see how they finish it!!

See the official press release.

See Ian Wylie’s blog for some commentary on the show’s end.

There is no news on when series 10 will be aired yet, but if it is broadcast around the same time as it was last year, except it to be on our TV screens some time in late October.

Spooks 10 is expected to go to air in September!!

The end of Spooks does not mean the end of this blog! Fans will be talking about this show for a long time to come :)

Visual Intel from Spooks Filming

Here’s one for the location nerds that contains a wee teaser for the next series. Courtesy of Spooks fan Graham, who happened to be in the right place at the right time, we have some visual intel from a recent season 10 shoot for you. Graham says: “They were filming on March 26th at the Chelsea Harbour Hotel. We came out of the entrance and all the signage to the hotel was in German, and an old Czech car parked outside!” (Click images for larger version)

I’m not sure what “ausgang” means (pedestrian exit?) but the other signs loosely translate to: Parking Prohibited!, Exit (for vehicles), Parking, Market, Pedestrians.. Hmmmm a German flavour to the next series perhaps? I am intrigued! Thanks to Graham for the surveillance snaps.
